Patients' wounds heal at a more rapid pace when they breathe 100% oxygen at higher pressures than that of our normal environment. Treatment takes place in a specially designed chamber that helps deliver a prescribed amount of oxygen to the patient's body tissue, at which time the healing process begins. The number of sessions varies based upon the severity of the wound. During treatment sessions, the patient may listen to music, watch television or rest comfortably.
