Fernando E. Kafie, MD, FACS, is a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon practicing in Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Kafie specializes in the minimally invasive (no-scar) treatment of varicose and spider veins.
Dr. Kafie earned his medical degree from UCLA Medical School. He also performed his vascular fellowship at the prestigious Gonda Vascular Institute at UCLA Medical Center. He is double-boarded and was the first surgeon at Sacred Heart to perform the EVLT Procedure (link). Dr. Kafie has published dozens of articles and book chapters in prestigious medical journals. More recently, he was recognized as one of the few “Champion Surgeons” in the state of Florida by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Dr. Kafie has maintains an active role in the hospital and serves as the Medical Director for the Vascular Access Center at Sacred Heart Hospital. In addition, he maintains memberships and continues to present original papers in many vascular societies.
